Darius Cozmic Collection 2 is coming

Winter 2020 will see the release of Collection number 2, I can't make out any titles announced for it but since the first one is awesome I'm sure Taito wont let me down. I'm just going to assume this will come to Switch and PlayStation 4 just like its predecessor.

The Darius games goes west and physical on Switch and PS4

Strictly Limited Games is celebrating their second anniversary with a very special release.

The games will release in 3 different editions for both PlayStation 4 and Switch.

The Darius series pioneered horizontal Shoot 'Em Up games and was developed by the legendary TAITO Corporation in Japan. The first Darius game was released for arcade machines back in 1986. In Darius, the player slips into the role of a spaceship pilot, either alone or in two-player mode. The objective is to save the Darius civilization by shooting and fighting through enemy hordes, using the famous space ship the Silver Hawk.

Numerous sequels and ports followed over the years, setting new standards for Shoot 'Em Up excellence each time, from the outstanding soundtracks to the unforgettable opponent design and the innovative branching paths at the end of each section. The Darius Cozmic Collection represents the classic 2D history of the iconic Shoot 'Em Up series.

Darius Cozmic Collection: Arcade

The Arcade Collection contains 4 different arcade titles in 7 versions, as well as an exclusive DARIUS enamel pin badge for 39.99 EUR.

It will be limited to only 1900 Playstation 4 copies and 2500 units for the Nintendo Switch! As mentioned previously, there will be no western physical retail release of this collection.
 

Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade includes 4 different arcade titles in 7 versions:

The Console Collection will feature 6 legendary console titles in a total of 9 versions, as well as an exclusive SAGAIA enamel pin badge for the price of 54.99 EUR.

It will be limited to 1900 Playstation 4 copies and 2500 Nintendo Switch copies respectively. As mentioned previously, there will be no physical retail release of this collection.

Darius Cozmic Collection going digital in September

The awesome Darius Cozmic Collection, so far only available in physical form in Japan for Nintendo Switch, is coming to the Nintendo eShop in both Standard and "Consumer" editions, for 5200 and 6500 Yen respectively.

Still no info on the collection going west in physical or digital form though so make sure to create a japanese eShop account and get it. The Switch is region-free.

News round-up of the last few days

Taito has confirmed that Space Invaders Invincible Collection is coming to Nintendo's Switch. Six titles are included, including never-before-ported-to-consoles Space Cyclone.

R-Type Final 2 Kickstarter wraps up in a couple of hours after what can only be described as a week of massive success, as of now it has smashed through $800.000 and keeps ticking.

Horizon Shift '81 (out already for Switch) launches on PlayStation 4 and Steam today.

Taito goes full Darius

Taito has just announced that they will release Darius Cozmic Collection for the Nintendo Switch.
It's slated for February 28th 2019 and will include:
Darius (Arcade)
Darius II (Arade)
Sagaia (Arcade)
Darius Gaiden (Arcade)

There will also be a special edition released that will include the above games but expand them with these:
Darius Twin (Super Famicom)
Darius Force (Super Famicom)
Sagaia (Sega Master System)
Darius II (Mega Drive)
Darius Alpha (PC Engine)

The special edition will also include a soundtrack CD, an art book and an acrylic marquee.

Let's get this out of the way, I love the Darius games so this is great news, here's hoping the special edition will be available in large quantities!

I pity the fool who hasn't gotten a Switch to satisfy shmup cravings yet.

Darius and Mushihimesama Gold Label

In a rocky announcement Taito revelead that Darius 30th Anniversary Edition is coming to PlayStation 4.

All those discs? Soundtracks for the game series. It's not entirely clear if the game disc contains just Darius or the complete series.

CAVE announced Mushihimesama Gold Label for Android and iOS.
And again, the information hasn't been translated so it's unclear if this is something to do with the shmup series or just something cobbled together with a famous name slapped on.
