Raiden V for Switch, coming in June

Siliconera reports that the Switch port of Raiden V: Director's Cut is coming to Switch this June.

• Supports 1 – 2 players (offline)
• New ship damage system (uses health bar, not lives)
• 3 distinct ships with different Defense, Mobility, and sub-weapons
• New “Cheer Attack” that greatly boosts sub-weapons for a short time
• Voice Acting for the first time in the series
• Director’s Cut exclusive levels

Gley Lancer returns (re-print of MegaDrive game)

NintendoLife reports that Gley Lancer, one of the more epxensive shmups to get for your Genesis/MegaDrive collection, is getting a reprint.


Its still for Genesis/MegaDrive (or maybe Mega Sg?) but instead of shelling out hundreds of dollars for a copy, the reprint will come in at slightly below 6000 Yen or about €50.

Indie developments

Irena: Metal Fury is coming for Genesis/MegaDrive.

Galagaga targets the same platform.

There's also an unnamed shmup in progress for the Commodore 64.
