Battle Garegga goes Limited

M2s fantastic PS4 port of Battle Garegga is getting a release from Limited Run Games on May 10th.
The Limited Collector's Edition will include the soundtrack on both CD and LP and a Blu-ray with a new documentary, M2: The Complete Works, on the M2 game development team. Our old friend Serrax from Bullet Heaven has made the music for the documentary.

Here's the trailer for the documentary:

Battle Garegga is of course already available in physical form for the PS4 in Asia but it's not english-friendly. Depending on pricing (and i'm guessing it's gonna be mighty pricey) I might skip this even though I'd love that documentary.

Korean physical disc version of Battle Garegga Rev.2016 in the wild

Korean scalpers are selling the Battle Garegga Rev.2016 PlayStation 4 physical disc version on eBay, it is unclear why Play-Asia and its competitors delisted it and aren't selling it.

There has been no word of a physical release of this game in any other territory and the PS4 is region free. If you want a physical copy act now, this title will only rise in price.

Battle Garegga Rev.2016, not just for PS4 any more

So, yeah, that just happened!

M2 goes west (I hope)

M2 has opened an english site with their PS4 exclusive STGs Battle Garegga Rev.2016 and Dangun Feveron on it. This suggest they are heading for a western release.

You could buy them right now if you create a japanese PSN account but it's a bit tricky. This way everyone wins!

Sorcer Striker coming to PS4

In what can only be described as a huge news day for shmups, M2 has announced that the third installment of their Shot Trigger series will be arcade shooter Sorcer Striker.

Seeing as Battle Garegga Rev.2016 and Dangun Feveron are the previous titles in the series I think we can expect an excellent port. And it's a game I haven't played either, make sure you have a japanese PSN account to buy these titles!

We already know that Ketsui is in the works in the series as well.

The PS4 version has been receiving high praise thanks to the wizards at M2 and their Shot Triggers label, so get ready to dive into battle courtesy of Grev’s interpretation of Garegga in DariusBurst CS! The DLC will allow you to play the Wild Snail, with its option formation and flame thrower. Grev have even added the medal collection system from Garegga!

Good times for PlayStation 4 owners ahead.

The latest issue of japanese stalwart games magazine Famitsu revealed that not only is CAVEs Dangun Feveron coming to PSN but Raizings Battle Garegga is coming along for the ride!

This is potentially good news for gamers everywhere and not only because Dangun Feveron has never gotten a home console release before and the only way to play Battle Garegga right now is to get the pricey japanese Sega Saturn release - the PS4 is very import friendly. Just follow one of the guides to create a japanese PSN account and get cracking!

In other news Degica seem to have backed off their earlier September 8th release date for the Steam port of CAVEs DoDonPachi Dai-Fukkatsu, moving it into more ambiguous TBA land.
