Panzer Dragoon Remake Review

Panzer Dragoon, Rolling Gunner physical available for pre-order

It turns out Panzer Dragoon: Remake that launched the other day on the Switch eShop is available as a physical release on pre-order right now from Limited Run Games, pre-orders are open until April 24th and the game is available in a regular edition and a "Classic Edition" kitted with a US Sega Saturn cover. There's no real "lmit" here except the pre-order cut-off date.

 

Meanwhile, the physical edition of Rolling Gunner for Switch (a PC version is also available) is also available for pre-order from Physicality Games and pretty much not a limited item per se, it just needs to hit a certain amount of pre-orders to get made at all. There's a vanilla version and a deluxe edition to choose from. The deluxe version pictured below comes with the games awesome soundtrack.

Panzer Dragoon to go VR

Gematsu reports that Panzer Dragoon is set to go VR (though no specific VR platform has yet been pinpointed) as Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record and turned into a first person shooter (sadly).
Still, if you're a fan i'm sure you don't want to miss out.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake - The Interview

The guys (and gals?) over at Panzer Dragoon Legacy conducted an interview with Benjamin Anseaume who is the producer of the (hopefully epic) remake of the classic on-rails-shooter Panzer Dragoon.

The Panzer Dragoon remake has so far been announced for Switch (including physical release!) and Steam.

The previously Switch exclusive Panzer Dragoon Remake has been confirmed to be heading for PC via Steam.

Here's hoping it sells well either way!

I think it's fairly safe to say that Limited Run Games is the distributor.

In other remake news: Panzer Dragoon

Gematsu broke the news that Polish developer Forever Entertainment has teamed up with SEGA to port remake the on-rails shooters Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon II from yesteryear.

No platforms announced yet.

Forever Entertainment recaps it thusly:

Panzer Dragoon: Remake is a refreshed version of Panzer Dragoon. The original version of the game had its premiere on the Sega Saturn console in 1995 and was well received by both players and critics. The entire Panzer Dragoon series has been repeatedly remade and released on many platforms. The last re-launch took place in April 2018 on Xbox One, where players can play Panzer Dragoon Orta with a backward compatibility.

The new version of the game will be characterized by completely new graphics compatible with today’s standards and several modifications of the game, making it more attractive to modern players, while remaining faithful to the original in terms of story. The first materials from the game will be presented in the upcoming months!

Panzer Dragoon Orta returns on April 17th.

After the Panzer Dragoon 1 & 2 games on the Saturn SEGA made a (great!) sequel to them on the original Xbox. On April 17th you can pop your original Panzer Dragoon Orta Xbox game into your Xbox One and play it again, it's been added to Xbox Ones list of backward compatible games!


For friends of rail shooters everywhere this is really great news.

Xenocider - on-rails shooter being Kickstarted

Xenocider is a new on-rails shooter being developed for PC (which is apparently what Windows is called nowadays), Mac, Linux, Nintendo 3DS and... Segas trusty old Dreamcast!

It's in development now, 2 demos of the game are available, and they want to be funded through Kickstarter. They need your help!
